Inside out book review by Jason Disley of Beatnpress

Danny Gray’s poetry is colourful, unafraid of social commentary and at times deeply personal. He also likes to throw in elements of graphic fantasy and abstract themes.

Rebel Bohemian Press sees its first release with Inside Out, a book that clearly shows progression in idea, form and artistry. Gray has teamed up with abstract artist and Soho face Graeme Webb, who previously provided the artwork for Danny’s Beatnpress books. However, Inside Out features many more examples of Graeme’s work peppered throughout and these complement Danny’s poetry beautifully.

Yes, the themes are familiar. His introspection and existential thoughts are shared honestly and nakedly, as they should be. Likewise, his flights of fancy, observational wit and understanding of the environments he inhabits make this a truly great first book for Rebel Bohemian Press.

Buy it, dive in and enjoy the very British voice enriched with an inclusive continental awareness that shows Danny isn’t afraid to stand up and be counted like a real rebel. If he were a Jedi, he would be a rebel with a Force. Instead, he is a modernist who roars.

Inside Out is available now and I highly recommend it.
